I live by a small creek that in summer becomes home to what sounds like hundreds of locusts and singing frogs. It's muggy and sticky outside but that's what living in the South is like. I've been working on a few pieces with the summer outdoors in mind so I've been painting warm skies and crafting pieces of summers long stored in memory.
I always love it when the watercolors come out. Pink clouds, warm clouds with cool mountains. If I could live anywhere it would be the mountains. They're so close here, big blue giants in the distance.
A snippet of the scene I'm working on. A camping trip and so far just a fire pit and yellow canvas tent. I remember camping in summer when I was a kid, big wolf spiders made temporary homes in our tents. Never unroll your sleeping bag before you're ready to hop in for bedtime or all manner of creatures would be sleeping with you.
